Question by Jim S: Can you recover legal charges if a collection agency sues you right after the statue of limitations?
A buddy was sued for an old credit card bill. She had not made a payment on the bill in over eight years. She had to retain a lawyer who is claiming the statute of limitations had run and it is now in discovery. If/when she wins on this affirmative defense, does she have any recourse for her legal costs (more than $ 1300 so far). It seems like
